Let’s Marry Harry Episode 2 Recap: Is Harry Falling Back Into His Old Ways?

Welcome back to From Mrs. to Miz. This is another episode of a recap. given all our thoughts and juicy details on Let's Marry Harry with Harry Jowsey. I was really excited to kind of recap this show. I don't know, I just think it was a fun one. So I always love when there's a little excitement and something fun to watch, a little bit different. So we're on to episode two. This one is called Kiss and Tell. And

Now that we are two episodes into Let's Marry Harry, I have questions, you guys, because Harry Jowsey says he wants a wife, right? Now his friends are trying to help him choose a wife. 20 women have shown up potentially willing to become his wife. And yet somehow we're already discussing who's kissed whom, who's telling everybody about it, who's showing enough discretion, and who's going home because she apparently talked too much.

Okay, so basically, marriage preparation is going great so far, but episode two actually made me much more interested in this little experiment because we're starting to see something important.

Harry says he is looking for a wife, but what kind of woman is he actually attracted to? Because those aren't necessarily the same woman. And that is what I'm watching for. You could be very attracted to a certain woman or certain man. It does not make them husband or wife material. it just means that you have this physical chemistry with them, right? So remember the question that I'm asking throughout this entire series, which is.

A man with a history of being emotionally unavailable suddenly decide that he's husband material? Or is Harry doing what a lot of people do in dating, which is wanting the outcome without necessarily becoming the person capable of creating it? So we are still tackling this particular question. And after episode two, I'm not sure my husband material score is going up. So keep in mind we are.

Keeping score every week of where we are at, episode one, I gave it a 5.5 out of 10 on husband material score based on what I heard, what I saw, what I feel, and what we know. Okay, so let's get into it. First of all, we need to learn a little bit more about these women. Now we started with 20 women, and I'm gonna be completely transparent.

I do not know who all of these twin women are as of yet. Last week I didn't even know their names. I'm getting a little bit better with that, but for the most part, we don't know very much about them at all. So Netflix keeps cutting to another beautiful brunette, and I'm like, wait, have we met her? Have we met her yet? I don't remember. So instead of trying to memorize everybody, I've decided that we're gonna create a watch list. So these are the women that I am paying attention to right now. Okay, so Donnell. Donnell is 33. She is from Las Vegas.

She's a cocktail waitress. Put a giant star next to her name. We like Danelle. Because suddenly Danelle has entered the chat. She is confident. She's older than a lot of the women in the group and she's very comfortable around Harry, which says a lot. And there is very clearly something happening here between the two of them. So we're gonna come back to her because episode two basically becomes Danelle's coming out party. Okay, next, Amber. Amber's 30.

She's a travel photographer. She's from Hawaii. Now, I would probably say that Amber fascinates me. She's intriguing because she's not giving Harry the validation that some of these other women are already giving him and kind of throwing themselves at him. And Harry notices this. He basically can't figure out. Does she like me? Does she hate me? Is she interested? And guess what? He likes it. Interesting, Harry.

Very interesting because the man who supposedly wants stability is already intrigued by the woman he can't completely read. We're gonna put a pin in that. Abby. She's 24. She's a medical esthetician from Louisiana. Now, Abby seems a little bit more traditional. She's family-oriented. She's old school when it comes to romance, which I love. I think that's very endearing.

She's someone that I'm watching because she sounds much closer to what Harry says he's actually looking for and what Harry actually needs as a potential wife. But again, does Harry actually respond to that? We will see. Okay, then we have Emma. Emma is 26. She's a marketing manager from Chicago. She's funny. She's confident.

she has guy friends, and basically she's not giving them up because a boyfriend gets insecure. She doesn't like that. And I love that boundary. She knows who she is, she knows what she wants, she knows what she's willing to entertain and what she's not. Love that. Then we have Juliana. She's 30, she's from Houston, she's an account manager. I am watching her. There is something about Juliana where I'm thinking, this girl could get messy. I don't know. There was just something.

That struck me in that way. Like she's a little bit of a messy, messy girl. Not necessarily bad, but messy. Then we have Rakaya. She's another one I'm watching because, well, first of all, she's beautiful, stunning. All these women are beautiful, but certain ones obviously stand out. but I'm watching her because she isn't immediately throwing herself at Harry, she's kind of taking a step back. And on a show where everyone is trying to create chemistry immediately, sometimes the person who makes you actually work for it becomes very interesting.

Now we want to be careful that this is not about chasing, because I talk about that a lot. Like we need him to actually see who we are as a person. Why am I saying we? Like I'm involved in this actual dating scenario. you know, we want him to actually see who they are as a person and not just be intrigued in chasing them because they're not giving him the attention that he's used to getting.

So we do want to be cautious of that. Now we have Sam, beautiful, 24 years old. Another one that I want us to remember. Are you guys keeping up with all of this? I hope so. So don't worry about memorizing everyone else yet beyond that. I think we were looking at, if I repeat, we've got Donnell, we've got Amber, we've got Emma, we've got Abby, we've got, who else I say? Juliana and Rakia and Sam. Those are my front runs.

I would say right now, who I'm kind of keeping my eye on. These are some of the names that I just want in our heads. So that's why I repeated it again. Okay, so we're on to the first dates. And well, frankly, this is where the kissing begins. It didn't take long for those lips to start getting in on other lips. The tongue is coming out really fast. And I think we're already feeling very quickly and seeing very quickly.

What Harry is all about. yeah, if we didn't know this show was about finding a husband, I'd be very curious at this point already. Okay, so Harry starts getting actual time with these women, which is very important. And immediately I am noticing something. Harry's natural language is physical chemistry. That's what he gets by on. That's how he approaches women. That's how he sustains women. That's how he chases women.

And that shouldn't surprise anybody. This is Harry Jowsey. This is not a surprise. But this is where the experiment gets interesting. Because if your old relationship pattern is attraction, chemistry, physical intimacy, then you figure out everything else later, and you're supposedly trying to create a completely different result. Well, then shouldn't you change the process? Because if you keep choosing women that are

In the exact same way, why would you expect a different relationship? What is the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and expecting a different result. This is exactly that. Heading into every moment with these women, kissing, physical chemistry, attraction, not looking for any substance Yeah, you do go off of chemistry right in the beginning. I do get that. But he already knows these women are all beautiful. They've been handpicked for him.

They're stunning. He's going to be attracted and have chemistry with all of them. So let's quickly get past that because we don't have a lot of time. I think it's only six weeks we're dealing with here. Maybe eight. We'll see. but you know, that's a lot. So we got to get moving. We can't just be riding on how it feels to kiss them and hold their hand and touch their bodies and look at their ass. So we got to be really thinking about that. This is my first issue with Harry in episode two. I don't think he's consciously doing anything malicious.

I actually think he genuinely believes he's approaching this differently, but I'm already seeing his old instincts and his habits running the show.

And then there's Faith. Okay, we need to discuss Faith. I didn't mention her in my first six, and I I kind of left her out because I have a different feeling about her. She's 24, so she's younger, she's from Kentucky, and she works in marketing. Harry takes her on an early date. There's definite chemistry. Again, stunning, beautiful woman. And immediately the two of them are getting a massage. They go in for a couples massage.

She's about to be massaged by someone. He's about to be massaged by someone. They have the perfect opportunity to be laying on the table, to be looking at each other, and to be having some conversation, some dialogue, some interest. Let's get to know each other a little bit in this moment. We know there's going to be time to kiss or make out or whatever, but let's kind of get to know each other. Well, Faith immediately says to her masseuse, masseuse, masseus, masseuse, can I take over?

Can I massage Harry? And of course, they're like, yeah. So the masseuses walk away. And now Faith immediately hops up in her skimpy bikini and she hops on to Harry's back. And, you know, she starts massaging him. So immediately we're in this place of like this physical connection, this physical touch. We are feeling sensual.

And so it's losing the ability to have an honest conversation that needs to be had right off the bat, like, hey, let's talk about what you are looking for? What are the the key traits in a woman that in in a wife that you are looking to find? And she's just eager to give them a massage. So that quickly turns into him turning around, you know, getting a hold of her, hands on her ass, kissing. They just start making out.

That's what they're doing. And then she eventually comes back to the house and what does she do? She tells all the women about it. Now she tells the women about it because number one, she's 24. Number two, she's probably not there for the right reasons. Number three, she's eager to let everybody know that she's already had a full-on makeup session makeout session with Harry. And I'm pretty sure she literally said, we didn't talk at all. All we did was make out the entire time.

Now, this is also coming off the heels of Sam actually having a little kissing session with Harry as well. they were on a yacht. All the women were up top, they're looking down, they can see Harry sitting with Sam.

So you can feel there's more maturity with Sam at 24 than there is with Faith at 24. Sam and Harry are having a very good conversation. This is again prior to the massage scene with Faith. Sam is showing she's little bit more grounded in who she is, she knows what she's looking for, she's asking questions.

And you know, then they do have a flirty moment and they end up kissing. Well, all the women are up top and they're looking down and they can obviously see that Harry and Sam are kissing and having a makeout session. And this is the first woman I believe that he kissed. So it's kind of throwing them for a loop. And I think that competitive s n the competitiveness just sets in where they're like, What? She got to kiss him. I now need to kiss him and I need to get that moment. So it really

started something there, kind of lit a fire under the other women, which is why I think Faith came in so hard with the massaging. She was the next person to have the the little personal time with him. And so she felt she needed to come in hard, show him who she was, what she's all about, that she is a make out girl and she's sexy and flirty and that they don't need to have conversation.

And that becomes very tough because once they go back to the house, Faith is the first one to offer up to all the women that again, that they had a full makeout session. They didn't even really have any conversation. So she tells them all about it. This somehow now becomes a problem, right? Like what happened to not kissing and telling? You know, letting the other women discover things for themselves.

Right now, to say that I'm supporting Harry, born in the 90s. I'm gonna wear this every week in support of Harry Jowsey. Okay. Second, I have questions. Because Harry is dating 20 women on television for Netflix, and we're upset because of the women, one of the women told the other women that she kissed the man that they are all dating. sir, pretty sure privacy left the building when you proposed to 20 women simultaneously. I think that's when privacy went out the window.

Am I right? I think I'm right. Now, I actually understand part of Harry's concern here though. He is a public figure. If he's looking for a wife, discretion probably matters tremendously to him. He doesn't want every intimate thing that he says, that he does, or that happens in the relationship to immediately be told to everybody else. I get that. But there's also a difference between I need a partner that I can trust with private parts of our relationship and you told the women on a dating show that we kissed.

Those are not exactly the same thing.

I think that he is forgetting that he is on a dating show with multiple women. I think he is forgetting that women discuss what goes on on dates. They talk all about the details. If you've ever seen that friends episode when I'm gonna just go with them, my friend would always tell me, give a friend's episode when Rachel kisses Ross for the first time and

The other girls, Monica and Phoebe, are so excited to hear they're like, Let me get the wine, let me get the glasses, do not say anything. I want to hear every detail. And as Rachel's telling every detail, they are, my God, that's so amazing. And then they cut to like, of course, Ross and Chandler and Joey. And he's basically like, Yeah, so Rachel and I kiss for the first time. And one of them says, Was her tongue? And he's like, Yep. They're like, Cool. That's it.

That is the difference between men and women. So Harry can be upset about this, the fact that she did go back and tell them, but that's kind of what women do. We look for validation. We tell each other things because we want the connection with other women. That's how we get that. So the fact that she went back and told them she probably felt like she was giving them a little nugget, connecting with each of them, letting them know, hey.

We're buddies. I'm I'm filling you in on what just happened with Harry here. So I don't think she was really thinking about it to the level that she was. And the fact that we were all here for the same guy. And also the fact that, you know what, Harry, if you didn't want to run him back and telling everybody that maybe you shouldn't have made out with her on public television like that in the first place. You should have been the one to set a boundary and cut that and say, Hey, I'm not ready for this. I am looking for my wife. I'm ready to have a conversation with you right now and get to know you. And there'll be plenty of times for

Plenty of time for making out down the road. That's what he should have done instead of calling her braggadocious. Okay, so because of that, when they get to the elimination, now I am doing a little spoiler alert because I am gonna say who's kind of going home a little bit here. but the confidants originally do not choose Faith to go home, even though she is in this braggadocious mode.

And she is spilling the beans about what they did. And they can kind of see the writing on the wall that she is not fully here to get to know him as a husband. She's here to say she made out with Harry Jowsey. So instead, they choose to send Jade home. Now, Jade, we didn't even really discuss because she was pretty irrelevant for the majority of the episode. I believe they had a little interaction later on in the episode, and he felt a little bit of connection with her. She is more of a dry personality. She

Wears her heart on her sleeves, she says what she's thinking. And I think he kind of liked that. And so he was intrigued by that. So the friends did not see that for him as a positive. And so they chose for Jade to go home. Well, I don't know if I mentioned this, but when the friends choose who goes home, they are eliminated. However, Harry does have a little bit of autonomy in this to come forward and say, I'm going to override that. I do get to save one person in every episode. And in this particular case, I am going to save Jade.

But what happens when you choose to save somebody, it does not mean that it just stops there. somebody else gets eliminated. So he saves Jade now Harry gets to choose who he feels is not right for him and wants to go home. And he chooses faith to go home instead.

That was mind blowing. That was like a plot twist. I was not expecting that because we felt that chemistry with them. He was into her. But I think it all came down to what he needs for his privacy and what he's looking for. So that is important because Harry isn't simply accepting his friend's advice, right? So that kind of lets us know, okay, he's not solely relying on his confidence.

To pick his future wife. He does have some say in this. He does want to be able to give his opinion. He does want to choose who he maybe thinks is better for him. He maybe thinks he knows himself better than his friends do. We'll see how that plays out. And he's had enough of a reaction to Faith's behavior to know that he needs to change this elimination. Faith was not exactly thrilled with the characterization afterward either. So here's my question: Did you guys think that Faith was actually bragging?

Or did Harry hear that she was talking about him and immediately interpreted it as something negative? Because those, again, are two very different things. And here's why I'm going to defend Harry a little bit. If I were dating someone seriously, and every time intimate interaction immediately became group conversation, I would hate that. So the underlying boundary, fair. Calling her braggadocious and eliminating her over it.

I'm not convinced that was necessarily the right move. I think she was excited. I think she's young. I think she got an opportunity to have a time with him to show him she was interested in him. And do I think she went about it a little bit the wrong way? Could she have split half the time and talked and half the time and made out? Absolutely. but again, she's young. So I don't know. And the fact that she came home and told the women about it, that's what we do. Women's words are 3,000 to men's words, 1,000.

So that's what we do. So I I just think that he could have maybe given a little bit more of a chance. But if he felt there was something more with Jade, then I guess that makes sense. Should he have maybe eliminated somebody who hadn't really had a connection with him yet? I could say yes, but again, I could say no because how unfair is that that they haven't even had the time or chance to get to know him. So a lot of different variables going on here. Okay, so let's get to the big first elimination. Okay.

So the confidence choose Samantha, not Sam, Samantha, Lauren, Jade, Maya A. And if you recall, I was really looking into Maya Avery in the beginning. and I'm not touching base on that too much, but when they had their conversation, it was very clear that she was there for influencer status, that she's trying to grow her social media, and that was her intent. So he felt that.

Confidants felt that, so they quickly eliminated her. And also Lindsay, five women, except that Harry gets the one save, which he used on Jade. Now he tells Jade that he doesn't think they've had enough time together and that he finds her very motivating and exciting. So she stays. And that's when Faith gets eliminated and takes her place. So that means our first five women are out: Samantha, Lauren, Maya A, Lindsay, and Faith. And here is what I find interesting.

Harry's not just eliminating based on chemistry right now. He's actually making judgments about what kind of wife he thinks he needs. Privacy matters, discretion matters, how a woman behaves around other women matters. That actually does tell us a little something about Harry. Whether he's applying those standards equally to himself, well, that's another conversation. But I'm gonna keep the receipts on that. Okay, so I do want to talk about Danelle real quick.

Because this is where episode two gets really juicy, you guys. Okay, so it's Danelle's birthday. Harry brings out a cake. Very cute, very sweet, very husband material ish. And I'm thinking, look at Harry go. He's got growth. He's got cake. And then Danelle and Harry disappear upstairs. They decide to take the conversation upstairs. So for those of you that don't know, Harry's room is upstairs in this mansion. It's not like he is down the street that they got a

hobble on crutches and one foot to get to him to tell him how they feel. He's right upstairs. So that's very simple. Any of the women can go upstairs and join him in his room.

Do I think that's a little bit too accessible? Absolutely. I think there need to be that separation. That makes it way too easy for these women to go in there. You're in his bedroom. There's a bed, there's all these things. I just think that that should have been held handled really differently. And I think that was a catalyst for a lot of what happened here. So, okay, I'm getting off track. Danelle and Harry actually disappear. They start making out and they end up upstairs together, right? And Netflix gives us sounds.

Mmm, mmm, mmm, very suggestive sounds. The implication is very clear here. And Netflix wants us cringing a little bit, stirring in our seat, but they also want us thinking, Did Harry just sleep with Danelle? Like we don't really know. They didn't show us that. They show them going under the blanket together. They show a lot of movement under the blanket and again a lot of sounds, but they are not saying specifically if they did get intimate all the way.

In the means of having sex or not. And here's where we now know something the audience didn't know when this originally happened. Harry has since publicly said no. According to Harry, they were making out, and production added the suggestive audio. Danell has backed him up and said no, they did not have sex in that scene. Which, hello, reality television. That's actually pretty wild.

Because those sounds completely changed how we interpreted what happened. We all assumed that they had now had sex. So while we're recapping what Netflix showed us, I'm putting an asterisk next to this one. Okay. So I got a little star up there. Apparently, hot make out, yes. Sex? They both say no. But forget the sound effects for a second. The bigger story is: Harry says he cannot stop thinking about Danelle. Now this

Feels like the first woman where I went, he likes her. He actually likes her. He is thinking about her. He's thinking about their conversation. He's thinking about their connection. And the fact that they did not have sex also amplifies that for me. So I like that. He's not thinking she's hot. we have chemistry. He seems genuinely pulled towards her. And that's where I love that. And it makes a little bit of sense. Donnell is 33.

Harry's 29. And compared to some of these 23 and 24, 24-year-olds in the house, Danelle feels like a grown woman, which is very attractive. She's very confident. She's very comfortable with herself. She's not acting like Harry Jowsey descended from heaven and personally selected her. And that may be exactly why he's responding to her. If you think back,

We mentioned him responding to Amber very much because she is not all over him. She's not giving him everything that he needs. Again, Amber is 30. So there's that, there's that age group right there that are a little bit more mature, and Harry's finding that very attractive. I am liking that. That is a good sign for him searching for somebody to be his wife that he sees the potential of something more than just a young girl that he can make out with. So

Donnell feels more like she is interacting with him. There's a difference there. But I do have another concern. How much of Harry's excitement about Danelle is actual genuine compatibility and how much is based on the fact that they do have immediate sexual chemistry because they did not have a conversation. They did not have a date. They just celebrated the birthday with everybody down there and then immediately went upstairs and started making out. Let's remember, we're looking for a wife here.

Sexual chemistry is fantastic. I certainly wouldn't recommend marrying someone you do not want to sleep with, chemistry tells you I want you. Compatibility tells you I can build a life with you. Let's let that sit for a moment. Chemistry tells you, I want you. Compatibility tells you.

I can build a life with you. We haven't established that yet. And then there's going back to Amber. She is the opposite dynamic, and this is why he's so attracted to her. He cannot figure her out. He essentially described her as this mysterious little cat who makes him feel like she hates him and likes him all at the same time. And he's finding that very exciting. He said that directly to the camera. There's something very intriguing about this. And this, I kind of want to watch.

Because if you've spent years in unstable relationships, sometimes stability doesn't initially feel exciting. Uncertainty does. And the person that you can't quite get, well, that person is a little bit exciting. And the person whose feelings that you're unsure about, again, exciting. The chase, very exciting. But here's the dangerous part. Sometimes people mistake anxiety for chemistry. And I don't know yet if that's what's happening with Amber and Harry.

But I am here for it. I am watching. I hit my popcorn for that one. Because Harry says he wants a stable marriage while being intrigued by the woman that he cannot read. The contradiction here, you guys, is fascinating. Okay, let's get to the compatibility test. We're gonna move away from who's hot, from who kissed Harry, who has chemistry, and who we're actually trying to figure out here who could function with this man in real life. And thank God, because this is the part of the experiment I actually care about.

This is what I coach on. This is what I talk about, right? The compatibility, not necessarily the chemistry. So the women go through a compatibility challenge. This is designed to see who matches Harry beyond just physical attraction. And Donnell does extremely well. Again, so now we have physical chemistry. Harry's thinking about her afterwards. And we have compatibility. Okay, Donnell, I see you. And this is where, and this is the moment where I'm officially moving her onto my

Women Harry may actually fall for list. Okay, so let's break it down. Here are my top women after episode two. I'm not predicting a winner yet. We're not doing that. We are only basing this on what we have seen through episode two from first and second episode. So number one, right now we have Dannelle She has momentum. Harry is thinking about her when she isn't there.

I should also mention that Harry took her aside the next day after they had their little makeout session. He took her out into, I think, a barn and they had a conversation. And wow, the fact that he was 6'5, she looks like she's like 5'4. I don't even know. That was a huge gap distance. Very interesting. Her neck has got to be killing her. And he gives her a little ring that he brought with him. It's not the engagement ring that everybody else has. It is just a little band that.

means something to him that he gave to her to just kind of add in with her engagement ring. She's the only one who has it. He wanted to let her know this was not just about sex for him. It was more than that. And I think that was a big move, right? Okay. So great things with Danelle. There's physical chemistry. There's ease. She seems to match him well. She's my current front runner. Yeah. Number two, I'd say Amber.

Not because they've developed some giant emotional relationship yet, they haven't at all. I'm putting her here because Harry's very curious about her, and curiosity is very powerful. He doesn't feel like he has Amber yet. That makes him think he's going to keep moving towards her. And so I like that for him. Now, the women that we haven't fully seen yet. I'm intentionally leaving this open because with 15 women left, I'm not buying the edit completely yet. Someone could absolutely sneak up on us. There's always a dark horse, they always lead you one way with someone else.

lingering in the back and then they come shining through. But right now, Danelle and Amber are the two dynamics I'm most interested in and for completely different reasons. Okay, so I want to add something a little special to this one. I want to do a girl run. Girl run moment of the week. I'm giving this one collectively to any woman who starts changing herself because she thinks she has figured out Harry's wife criteria. Do not start performing wife. That's who she is.

Don't become quieter because Harry wants discretion. Don't become sexier because he's responding to sexual chemistry. Don't become mysterious because he likes Amber's mystery. Let the man actually meet you. Because if Harry chooses a character that you created to win him, eventually you're going to have to live inside that character. You're going to have to be that character. No, thank you. Okay. So wait. I actually agree with Harry here. Privacy.

I'm giving him this one. If Harry genuinely wants marriage, he's absolutely allowed to say, I need who I need someone who doesn't share every detail of our relationship with everybody else. That is reasonable.

so my girl run moment of the week. Well, that's faith, right? And we know what faith demise was, right? So that makes sense. Okay, so I want to give Harry's husband material score. Okay, so last episode, which was episode one, I gave it a 5.5 out of 10. Now, episode two, I'm gonna go down slightly, actually. I'm gonna go to five out of 10. And here's why. I'm seeing sincerity.

I still believe that Harry wants marriage. I'm seeing him take his friends' opinions seriously. I'm seeing him think beyond physical appearance, but and those are green flags. But the kissing is escalating. He's already getting extremely physical with Donnell. He's still heavily driven by immediate chemistry, and I'm not seeing enough evidence yet that Harry has actually changed the way he chooses women. Now remember, you cannot create a new relationship using all of your old relationship patterns.

Okay, let me say that one more time. You cannot create a new relationship using all of your old relationship patterns. If attraction and sexual if attraction and sexual chemistry have historically gotten Harry into trouble, maybe those shouldn't be driving the bus while you're selecting a wife. Just saying they can ride in the car. They just shouldn't have the keys. So Harry, husband material, score, five out of ten.

The big question for me after episode two, does Harry want to be a husband or does he simply want a wife? Episode two also gives me another question. Is Harry actually choosing differently this time? Because that's the test. Now, whether he can find an amazing woman, there are amazing women standing all over that house. The test is whether Harry actually sees them for who they are and can he recognize the kind of woman with whom he could build a healthy marriage?

Even if sh she isn't the woman who activates all of his old patterns. And right now, I genuinely don't know that, which is exactly why I'm hooked, you guys. I am hooked on this show. So after episode two, five fiances are gone. Faith has been deemed braggadocious, and she was my girl run of the week. Jade has been saved from execution. Amber has Harry confused and intrigued. Danelle has Harry very distracted.
